Bacteriological. Flora hd Its Sensitivity Test in Cases of Otofuruncle.

Abstract
In 40 cases suffering from otofuruncle, bacteriological flora and its sensitivity test toward different antibiotics has been studied.
Following results were obtained.
1) Among the secrete of 40 ears, 44 strains of bacterial flora were isolated and identified: Of these, 77% were coagulase positive staphylococcus and 7% were pseudomonas aeruginosa, indicating that these two bacteria are the. most important pathogens of otofuruncle.
2) Coagulase positive staphylococcus was very sensitive to Albamycin, Leucomycin, Erythromycin and was moderately sensitive to Kanamycin, Terramycin, but it showed resistance against Penicillin,Chloromycetin, Sigmamycin.
On the other hand, pseudomonas aeruginosa was resistant against all of the antibiotics.
3) From the normal external auditory canal of 10 ears, 99 strains of bacterial flora were isolated.
Of these, 90% were coagulase negative staphylococcus.
Coagulase negative staphylococcias was very sensitive to Albamycin, Leucomycin, and was moderately sensitive to Terramycin, Erythromycin, while it was rather resistant against Penicillin, Streptomycin, Chloromycetin, and Sigmamycin.
Almost all of the isolated bacterial strains showed resistance toward Penicillin and Chlormycetin.
